Meterological Station

 

The Department of Geography is equipped with two meteorological stations, which are maintained by the Physical Geography and Climatology Group. The weather station in Aachen Hörn has been in operation since 1989, the one in Woffelsbach-Wildenhof since 2007, both being fully automated.

Weather Station Hörn:

The following climate elements are registered: air pressure, air temperature, ground temperature, relative humidity, precipitation, evaporation, global radiation, diffuse radiation, sunshine duration, wind direction, wind speed, and global radiation.

Weather Station Woffelsbach-Wildenhof:

The following climate elements are registered: air temperature, relative humidity, precipitation, global radiation, radiation balance, wind direction and wind speed.
