Burnside Yard

It is hard to guess this Aachen band’s musical style on the basis of their enigmatic name alone. And that is precisely the idea. Founded in 2013, the band now consists of five experienced young musicians who let their creativity roam free and fuse many different   music styles in their songs. Emotional ballads suddenly alternate with funk rock, then again with groove-filled rock songs full of brute guitar riffs; each set is a roller coaster ride through all kinds of genres, in keeping with the motto: anything goes. After a series of recent concerts, the band is once again coming up for fresh air – at this year's Aachen September Special.

Onk Lou

The talented musician from a small town in Lower Austria has been busking all over Europe in the last few years. He has played at songwriting festivals in Denmark, Russian discos in Moscow, apartment parties in Berlin, and on the streets of Italy. With his debut album "Bogus" he won over his home country in a flash – besides several TV shows, the rather striking bearded fellow quickly rose to play on big stages and festivals here. Last year he was nominated for the Alternative category for the 2018 Amadeus Austrian Music Award, where he also performed with Sam Louis.

Isolation Berlin

The indie rock band Isolation Berlin is one of the most exciting of its kind in Germany. The Berlin band is formed of singer and guitarist Tobi Bamborschke, Max Bauer on guitar and organ, David Specht on bass, and Simeon Cöster on drums. They win over fans and even critics with songs like "Annabelle" or "Aquarium." While the musicians are only in their mid-20s, they managed to become the darlings of the indie scene in just a matter of weeks. Their debut "Und aus den Wolken tropft die Zeit" and subsequent album "Berliner Schule/Protopop" alternate from good mood beats and self-indulgent staginess to lyrics that are authentic and in keeping with the spirit of our time. Enjoy melancholic sounds from the nation’s capital.

Jai D´Or

Jai D´Or is a music project from Aachen that started in 2016 in the basement of a student residence. The band initially experimented with different directions in small constellations. Since then, the group has steadily grown and developed . The special music of the project is characterized by a steady core of drums, bass, piano, guitar, and vocals, as well as a varying accompaniment of saxophone, flute, trombone, and percussion. Influences from jazz, soul, funk, and other genres as well as the members’ different cultural backgrounds make for an original and individual sound.

Daddy Cookiz

Daddy Cookiz - one of Atomic Spliff's singers, is now doing a stint as a solo artist. With only one microphone, melodics, and a drum machine on stage, he easily enchants every audience. Growing up with Jamaican rhythms, he naturally took them in and is now highly appreciated for his rousing live performances. From the very first note you will be immersed in a sea of strong and positive energy! Experience it yourself at Aachen September Special!

A-Wa ("Ay-wa") are the world pop sensation from the Israeli Negev Desert. The music by the three sisters Fair, Liron, and Tegel Haim is a mixture of traditional Yemeni melodies and modern hip-hop beats, complemented by electronic sounds. Their confident performance represents a strong and modern image of women in the otherwise rather conservative Middle East and continues to win fans the world over.

Following the overwhelming success of their single "Habibi Galbi", which has by now already had over ten million views, their debut album of the same name, produced by Tomer Yousef of Balkan Beat Box, was released in 2016. Their latest album was released in spring 2019.
